Loyal readers of my blog will be shocked by today’s change of content because usually Tuesday is tip sharing day. It’s a tradition that has been in place for a long time now but I was feeling the need for change, I think it’s the weather’s fault but anyway today we are talking bucket lists.
Over the next few weeks I’m going to share thirty things I want to do before thirty with each week having a different theme. I’m twenty-five at the moment and so thirty doesn’t feel like a billion miles away. That’s a scary thought.
As someone that is naturally goal oriented I thought I would start as I mean to go on, so these are thirty things I want to achieve by thirty.
Savings // By the time I’m thirty I want to have saved money, a significant amount of money and have a healthy savings account ready for those rainy days.
Bought somewhere // I want to have bought my dream property.
In a job I love // By the time I’m thirty I want to have a successful and fulfilling career, one that I am proud of.
Election // I would love to be a councillor at some point in the future and I think that’s next on my list. So by the time I’m thirty I want to have stood for election.
Healthy weight // I want to hit my healthy weight target by the end of this year but by the time I’m thirty I want to have a stable weight and not fluctuate as I have before.
Published author // By the time I’m thirty I want to have had more than one novel published.
Confident // Age is definitely good for confidence levels and over the last three-four years my confidence has really grown. By the time I am thirty I want to have a really healthy level of self-esteem and confidence.
Travelled // I don’t get to travel an awful lot and yet that said I’ve also been really lucky, I’ve been to some of the world’s most incredible places. I hope that by the time I’m thirty I will have travelled some more.
Car // I want to have my own car, something I absolutely love driving. I’m currently crushing on a white Range Rover.
Reputation // It’s so easy to get a bad reputation and yet incredibly hard to turn that in to a good one, so by the time I’m thirty I hope that I’ll have been able to do so.
Met someone // At the moment relationships are not top of my priority list (career and writing is) but nonetheless I hope that by the time I’m thirty I’ll have met someone special.
Still have OhKay-DohKay // I hope that by the time I’m thirty I will still have this blog and that it’s still being read by people.
A Labour Government // This isn’t a personal achievement but more something I hope to have seen.
A good credit rating // At the moment my credit rating is ok, not exceptional but ok and I hope that by the time I’m thirty it will be outstanding.
A pair of manolo blahnik’s // No description needed.
A desk // This sounds totally random right but hold that thought for a second. I currently have a makeup table and I love it but it’s not a desk and my laptop doesn’t fit on it. I want to have written a load of books by the time I’m thirty, so a special space for writing is pretty much essential.
Inspire others // Again this is a rather ambiguous comment but I really hope that by the time I’m thirty I am inspiring other people.
Signature style // I feel as if I already have a good idea what my style is and I hope that by the time I’m thirty I’ll have nailed it.
Articles published // I love writing – hence the author aspirations and the blog – and by the time that I’m thirty I hope that I’ll have had a number of articles published.
Won the control // I’ve never hidden the fact that I suffer with anxiety and depression, it’s one of life’s ongoing battles but by the time I’m thirty I hope that I will have learnt to control it better.
Made a difference // I think that most people who have a political interest do so because they want to make a difference and I am no different but before I’m thirty I want to have made a huge difference.
Learn a second language // I know the cliche that you shouldn’t have any regrets (most of us do though right?) but I absolutely regret not learning a language in school. The truth is I was good at English but I just couldn’t cope with doing more than one.
Learn to cook // I can cook the absolute basics but I honestly wish I was able to really cook. By the time I’m thirty I really hope that I will have learnt.
Watch the whole of Sex and the City // So as you may or may not be able to tell I’m kind of lagging in idea’s by this point, however I have always wanted to watch the whole of Sex and the City. Confession – I am NOT a Carrie fan, she just really annoys me.
So that’s my thirty before thirty post (the eagle eye will notice that it’s actually 24 but shhhhh!!)
What would you have added to the list?
