If you follow me on twitter (if you don’t then why not! You’re missing all the fun), then you will know that I went to the Clothes Show Live on Saturday, and I thought that I would share with you some of the fun! This is the second time I’ve been, and I would highly recommend this event to anyone interested in fashion and beauty, and as it falls around Christmas each year it is the perfect opportunity to pick up some Christmas bargains!
I spent a fair bit of money, I think my bank manager hates me, and if I included everything I bought in one post it would be Christmas before you know it. I am going to show you what I bought, but I am going to split it into several smaller posts and review the items for you also!
This post is just going to be an overall summary of the day, a showcase of some of the fantastic up and coming designers and the few non-beauty bits for you!
So to start out with I want to tell you about the highlight of my day!! Unlike a lot of the people there, I’m not a fanatical celebrity worshiper and I’m not ashamed to admit that I barely noticed Peter Andre walk by, but there was one person I was thrilled to have got the opportunity to meet!
It wasn’t Mark Wright (he is hot in person though) and it wasn’t Nanny Pat (I did get a tad excited at this though, I mean come on, it’s Nanny Pat) but it was actually Lindsey Kelk! I am a massive fan of Kelk’s book and was really excited to get the opportunity to meet her, she gave some fantastic blogging and writing tips and is a really cool person. While she assured us that her main characters were not based on herself, her witty and humorous writing style is definitely personified by her in person. I definitely suggest reading those books.
I love this checked print and the beautiful colour!
These are from a designer called Sian Hulse. Her range was really grungey, very New York casual. I loved it! Think doc martins and loose!
The next designer that I LOVED was Hanna Rose, and her collection really stood out! It’s a romantic feminine range with a lot of texture and pastels! Pretty!
Let me know which is your favourite below?
Lastly I wanted to share with you two new companies I discovered and absolutely fell in love with! Funnily enough both are run by Made In Chelsea stars (or ex stars) but are seriously savy stores!
The first is the amazingly named MyFlashTrash, which is run by the Ex-MIC member Amber. I love this company, it’s cute and extremely quirky! I am loving the ring stacking trend right now (think Sherzy times ten) and love their range of midi rings. I am also in love with this cute necklace and it is a bargain! At the show, I picked up this cute phone case and can see these being a staple on my bank statement (I should warn my bank manager in advance).
The second brand, is the extreme sport inspired JAM industries, a business that is run by the gorgeous Andy Jordan and his family. (The name stands for Jordan Andrew Mark) I had the pleasure of meeting his mum and little brother at the show (yup ladies, he’s as cute as his older brother) and they were lovely! An up and coming brand, I am really looking forward to seeing where this company goes! I bought this beautiful scarf and cannot wait to add it to my Winter wardrobe.
Have you ever been to the Clothes Show?
