Model’s Own Speckled Collection Review

When Illamasqua released their speckled nail polishes last year the beauty world went in to melt down and finally, the highstreet have caught up. Earlier this year Model’s Own released their own, budget version of the delicious polishes and debuted their own speckled collection. In an array of perfectly pretty pastel shades and with the effect of looking like yummy mini eggs, these are the perfect Spring polishes.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWith lilac set to be a key colour for the season, I was immediately drawn to this pretty shade (Swan)  and I wasn’t disappointed on application. It’s an opaque polish and requires a few coats for the colour to be really seen but being a rather clumsy nail painter, I tend to like that because it makes it easier for me to get it right. It took four coats for me to get the shade that I was happy with but I really like the finished product.

This polish lasted for at least a week and I could have easily made it last a lot longer, a lasting time that I was happily surprised by. The only negative came at removal. I have a huge issue with removing these sort of polishes because while the colour comes off easily enough, I find that the glitter is another matter altogether!! A week after removal I still have several pieces of black glitter clinging on for life!

This is a really egg-citing product (sorry) and perfect for the Spring season! Go get it!
