So today is Monday and that does of course mean that it’s make up review time, and today is another foundation review!
So if you hadn’t guessed from the picture or the title, I am going to be reviewing the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation . Now this is a relatively new foundation and it is a liquid foundation consistency. I picked mine up in Sainsbury’s for £7.99 and I got the shade 125 nude beige (I’ve linked boots here though as it has an offer on). As you can see from the above picture I also bought the concealer in shade 10, but I’m not going to review it because frankly I don’t like it.
So the same structure as my usual reviews, only today I have tried to use less bullet points and have used pictures of myself! So here I am before I applied the foundation…
- It claims to give a flawless finish
- Lets the real you breath through
- Fresh feel and look.First Impressions
- I was impressed by the amount of choice with regard to colour, it’s a lot better than most drugstore foundations
- I love the clean, plain packaging I think that it actually looks quite clean
- The consistency seems pretty good, it’s a liquid and it’s quite watery but usually that means they blend a lot better
- On the back of my skin the colour looks pretty perfect, it has no shimmer but a gorgeous colour.
Verdict- I don’t tend to buy Maybelline foundations but I’m very excited to give this one go, primarily because of the colour and how close it is to my own. 3.5/5.
So here is me with it on! Pulling a kissy face!
Unlike my previous make up reviews where I only wore the foundation for a day, I have been wearing this foundation for four days now and just feel that it will give me a better idea of the product. Ive also worn it in numerous ways, with a primer and with powder, and can therefore give you a pretty good overview! The first thing to say is that it blends faultlessly and is really easy to apply, as I first thought the colour is a perfect match for my natural skin. As you can see from the above picture ^ it does give me pretty good coverage, I wouldn’t say it’s “flawless” because my natural skin definitely shows through and redness isn’t covered very well. It’s a matte finish, but with my natural skin peeking through it definitely has beautiful, natural finish. It also lasts a pretty long time, by the time I finish work it’s still there but my redness and blemishes are now starting to show through.
Theres no shine either. As I said earlier I did try it with a primer because I generally have problems keeping my foundation on, but the good thing with this foundation was that I found it lasted as long without a primer as it did with. The primer did make it go on that little bit smoother but I found that the foundation was good enough on its own. I also did try it with powder, again it was as good with as it was without.
Verdict- A very very good high street (drugstore) foundation and my new favourite. I really do like it and I will probably continue to use it. My obly problem is that it doesn’t last very well on spots. It’s easily a 4/5.
