March 2015 Favourites…

So far 2015 has been a weird one for me, I’ve been suffering with depression, seem to have fallen behind on my goal progress and my health overhaul has stalled but on the beauty front things have been a-changing. I got quiet sloppy with my make-up toward the end of 2014 but this year I was determined to shake things up and so far it’s the only resolution I’ve managed to stick too. So, without further ado, here are the items that I have been loving throughout March.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, in shade 70 ( £33, Slefridges) // Earlier in the week I mentioned my epic Chanel foundation fail but fear not dear readers because I have found a way to make it work for me. If you didn’t see my earlier post then let me briefly explain. So I recently made a slight Selfridges haul and decided that it was time for me to replace my lost Chanel foundation, it broke my heart to lose the original and having managed to hold off for several months I decided not to wait any longer. However Kay was a little bit silly and might have made said purchase with blinkers on because I went and ordered the wrong shade, it happened to be far too dark for me. However there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. It was never ever going to work as a foundation but it’s the perfect shade for a liquid bronzer and hence has filled a gap in my routine. It blends to my cheek bones and T zone perfectly and leaves the perfect natural, sun-kissed effect. Don’t panic, I then went and bought my actual shade in the foundation but I am so relieved that I managed to find a purpose for the mis-ordered product

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (£22, NARS) // It was during the earlier mentioned haul that I decided to grab a few NARS bits and one of these was the much loved Radiant Concealer. I’ve said it before but I’ll say it once more, I tend to hate overly hyped products but there is nothing more fulfilling than agreeing with this hype. This is a really gorgeous concealer, it blends flawlessly, dries to a perfect matte consistency and covers even the most prominent of blemishes. It lasts all day and has fast become a staple in my everyday routine. It’s perfect for a lazy make-up day too because a few dabs blended evenly and your ready to go, no messing, no fuss, just a good, honest concealer.

MAC Lip pencil, whirl (£12.50, MAC Cosmetics) and MAC lipstick, brave (£15.50, MAC Cosmetics) // I love finding life changing beauty products (slight exaggeration there but y’all know what I mean) and this deadly combination is definitely one of those such buys. Since I discovered this luxe recipe earlier in the month I’ve taken a completely different outlook on my life, I now see it as Pre-Brave and After-Brave, that’s how kickass this look is. It’s the perfect “nude pop” to quote a recent giveaway entrant (you know who you are) because while it’s the perfect everyday shade, it’s special enough to be a stand alone statement and does wonders for the shape of my pout. It somehow makes them looker fuller and with minimal make-up and a sparing amount of rose-gold shadow, it’s the perfect day to day routine. I’ll be offering a full review of this bad boy later today, so stay tuned to see more.

Bourjois Healthy Balance powder (£8.99, Boots) // I never thought I would find my perfect powder, it’s been such a needless part of my beauty routine in the past that I was skeptical of ever finding the one and yet find it I most certainly have. Since purchasing this offering on a whim a few months ago I’ve yet to be seen without it and it has fast become an essential part of my everyday routine. I won’t go in to too much deal because you can see more here, but needless to say this powder is the dream. It’s everything you could want and so much more.

EOS lip balm, strawberry sorbet (£6.50, Selfridges) // I used to be the queen of chapped lips but since I started using this delicious lip balm my chapped lips have been banished to the realms of history. I was sceptical about using such a lavishly priced lip balm but boy am I convert because this little beauty works absolute wonders. I’m definitely going to be grabbing a few more of these, they are oh so amazing.

What have you been loving this month?

It’s so good. It helps my make-up stay in place all day long, it’s the first time that I’ve actually seen a difference xx
