Welcome back, old friend!
When I first started my blog I used to love writing my Sunday Sit-down series. It was an opportunity for me to look forward to the week ahead, ponder the week past and muse about things that were on my mind. Yet I started to feel that these posts were more for me than for you and that perhaps they weren’t “cool” enough to feature on my blog, it was a rather silly decision and hence they are making a comeback.
Earlier in the week I published my goals for the next 12 months and also talked about the issues I am currently having with my content and I’ve been thinking about it a lot over the last few days. I’ve come to the realisation that the reason my blog has lost it’s way is because I had. In a bid to make my blog more readable I started to change it’s content and slowly it became something that I am not happy with.
I love writing about everything and sometimes I want to focus on fashion, sometimes beauty but I’m always confident in offering my opinion on any given subject. So from now on that is exactly what I intend to do.
I want my blog to represent me – ambitious, driven, fun and opinionated – so over the coming months that’s what my content will reflect. I’m going to continue to blog about various subjects and in that sense my blog will continue to be mixed but I’m going to be adding a bit more spice in to the mix.
I’m going to be writing regular light political, opinion and feminist based pieces and continue my advice and life lesson series’. On top of that I am going to bring back my Sunday Sit-down posts and these are going to be my opportunity to write about whatever I feel I need to.
I’ve also come to a really passionate conclusion and it’s something that I think we all need to acknowledge. I’ve read a handful of books on blogging, books that claim to make your blog an overnight successes to teach you how to make it work and they always offer you one rule – find your niche.
But what if you don’t have a niche?
As some of you might have already noticed (and some of you might doubt!) I’m a human being and I have many passions, interests and ambitions. I find it incredibly hard to describe myself in three words let alone chose one blog subject and hence my blog is varied.
I’m varied and that’s ok!
The past week…
It’s been a really good week for me actually because I’ve really learnt a lot about myself and what I need to do in order to achieve my 2016 goals. I know that it’s cliche and I know it’s entirely silly but the new year has really boosted my motivation and I’ve made a really good start on my goals.
I just have to keep that going!
Lesson from the last week…
Family and friends are the most important thing to me.
I need to learn to finish one task before starting another.
I totally have a crush on Ross from Emmerdale.
My favourite picture of the week….
The week ahead…
This week is a rather busy one for me but my main goal is to maintain my motivation and momentum. This week I really want to achieve every single goal that I’ve sent myself for the week, they are small but platy in to the big picture!
Interested to see if I do it? Then stay tuned for next week!
