Feeling the change

It’s been a long time since I first started this blog and since then I’ve learn an awful lot about blogging but more importunely I’ve learnt an awful lot about myself. I’ve definitely changed as a person since then, I’ve grown in confidence and ambition and I’ve started to like myself a lot more than I did before.

Over the last few years I’ve had some pretty epic highs and some heartbreaking lows and my blog has come on that journey with me.

When I first started blogging I had a clear, concise idea of what I wanted to achieve with my blog, what I wanted my blog to lookalike and the impact I wanted it to have, but somewhere along the way that seems to have gotten lost.

These days my blog seems a tad confused, it’s part beauty, part opinion and I’m just no longer sure what I am trying to say.

I’m not particularly happy with the content that I’ve been publishing as of late and I can’t say that I enjoy writing some of my posts, hence my blog is rather quite at the moment. I used to love sitting down to write my posts for the week ahead but more often than not these days writing posts just feels like one massive chore.

I need to get my writing mojo back by finding new ways of working and I need to find my voice once again, so over the next few weeks you might notice some changes.

I’m going to try to streamline my blog, what I want it to be and what I want it to achieve and so I’m going to try some new types of posts.

I’m not sure what or how or what my blog will look like by the end of the month, the year and that’s kind of exciting but it’s also daunting.

In the meantime I would really appreciate your feedback. I’d love to know if there are any posts you liked that you would like to see me bring back or a particular type of post you think I do well with.

Let me know below!

I love blogs that simply just feel ‘real’ – like an extension of someone’s real thoughts, rather than a business or ‘brand’. It’s easy to get swept up in the vision of modern blogging – striving for a bigger outreach, more followers etc. and I know I get caught up in it all from time to time. I enjoy reading the blogs that merrily flit from opinion to review to random chatter, and I always imagine these kind of blogs are more fun to write! I look forward to seeing how things change here, and will be sticking around 🙂
