Dating Virgin

Dating Virgin

I have a bit of a confession to make, you know how I like to share on this blog and the confessions seem to come aplenty. I have never actually dated anyone. I know right, in this day and age with the inter webs making it easier for people to meet, mingle and to cease be single, it seems practically impossible to meet anyone that has never entered the dating realm and yet alas, here I am.

I’ve had relationships of course but generally these of been of an entirely different nature to dating, more passionate love affairs or friends first kind of situations as opposed to the gentle, slow progression of dating. These relationships have all ended disastrously and recently I’ve been thinking (dangerous I know) that perhaps skipping the dating phase is one of the key reasons for said failures.

I guess dating is a bit like the two week period in which you are allowed to return a product, you try it out, see if it fits you, see if it fits in your wardrobe with the rest of your clang…I mean clothes, and it gives you a chance to get to know each other before taking the dreaded leap.

So this week I have made a decision, from now on I am going to try dating and insist on several dates before any leap is taking. The way I see it, why should someone get all of me before they make a serious commitment to me and mostly people can’t do that until they’ve really had chance to know you.

Watch this space, I’ll let you know how it goes….

Are you like me, a dating novice?

Until quite recently I had never actually ‘dated’ despite having had long term relationships! I think it’s all reflective of changes in the way we socialise. But it is nice to go on a good old fashioned date!
