If there’s one beauty motto I live by it has to be why pay more when you can pay less. Now I’ll be honest, there are occasions when I have a tendency to break that rule and occasionally I do opt for the higher priced items (see here for an example). Yet on the whole it is my guiding light and I genuinely believe that there is no point in remortgaging the house for a foundation, when L’Oreal offer an exact but budget alternative!
I’ve mentioned in previous posts that I tend to value a good primer, as someone that struggles to keep make-up in place, so for a long time I’ve been tempted by the Urban Decay make-up setting spray (£20.00). Yet I can’t seem to bring myself to pay that for what is ultimately a glorified hair spray and I’ve therefore hung back on it for a while. So when I saw this alternative version in Avon recently, for just £3.50, I knew I had to give it a whirl.
One pump of this aerosol was enough to layer my entire face but the slight smell immediately made me wary and I was instantly turned off. Once dried it’s actually quite uncomfortable, feeling stiff, tight and just generally uncomfortable on the skin. I honestly don’t think that it made my make-up last any longer than normal and it left my skin feeling quite dry.
This product gets a massive thumbs down from me i’m afraid and one that I will be slipping in the back of my make-up draw!
Is the Urban Decay setting spray worth the money?
