August 2016 review

I used to love writing my monthly favourites posts but over the last few months I’ve really fallen out of love with them. So in June I decided to write a monthly review and I actually enjoyed writing that a lot more than I’d been enjoying my favourites posts.

Seeing as we are nearing the end of August today I wanted to have a little chat with you all and talk about my month.

This //

I’ve been really rubbish on the blogging front this month, I’ve really lost blogging mojo and I’ve been struggling to find my motivation to blog. I guess it kind of feels like a chore sometimes. I found a lot of common ground with Very Berry Cosmo and her recent video where she discussed how she felt that she was falling out of love with blogging. I can really relate to this.

I think part of my problem is that I no longer feel like I’m part of the blogging community, I don’t seem to have blogging friends like other bloggers do and I guess it kind of frustrates me.

I have a week of this week and I’m going to use it to work on my blog and attempt to write a bulk load of posts so I can concentrate on engaging and socialising with other bloggers. I’ve also shaken up my organising routine and I’m determined to get better at managing my time.

On a final note I’m also in the process of setting up a nice, productive home office and I think that this will really help me to feel a bit more motivated.

That //

Talking of organisation this month I really wanted to chat to you about some hot new products that I have fallen in love with. I wanted a new diary for my handbag and decided to invest in a rather expensive but gorgeous Kikki K planner. I’ve been lusting of these for the longest of times but this month I had a decent reason for buying one because you know what, I actually needed one. I chose the gorgeous white one with the gold polk dots which I am in love with and alongside that I’ve been using this cute desk pad. These have really helped me up my daily planning. I also grabbed a load of other bits but there are far too many to mention.

Looking ahead //

I don’t know why but September is always a busy month for me and this one is no different. I definitely like it that way however because it means that I get to keep busy and this helps me stay motivated.

  • I am so excited to be going to this years Hope Not Hate summer camp because I’m pretty sure that it’s a more important cause than ever before.
  • The Labour leadership election result is also happening in May and I’m pretty sure it’s going to be closer than people might have originally thought. I’m also pretty sure that it’s the more important election in a long time, I honestly don’t know what will happen whoever wins.
  • I am hoping I get the chance to watch Northampton V Manchester United in the cup. I’ve mentioned it before but I might as well mention it again, my uncle manages Northampton Town Football Club. They beat West Brom in the cup and in the next round they have Man United. I am so excited for my uncle and the fans, they deserve something to look forward to.

As well as these exciting events I’ve also set some exciting projects that I want to work on this month.

I’m really going to get some work done on my bustiness this month and I have some goals I want to achieve on that front.

I also want to launch the podcast series I mentioned in an earlier month. So keep your eyes peeled for that, especially if you are interested in crime.
