Today marks the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz concentration camp, an anniversary that should never be forgotten. It’s my personal belief that it’s only by discussing the Holocaust, attempting to learn the lessons and educating the future generation that we will ever avoid another such genocide. I was going to write a post today but in all honesty no words can really express the horror of what happened, having been to Auschwitz and having seen the scale first hand, I truly believe that the visual is far more powerful. So instead of attempting and failing to express my sadness, horror and regret at what happened, instead of attempting to decipher the tragic nature of the event, I thought that it would be more powerful for me to share the seven pictures that go some way to demonstrating the horror.
Never again. Not in my lifetime. Never in MY name.
