Aside from reading a good book there is little I love more than curling up with a good ol’ movie and over the years I’ve definitely watched some good un’s.
There are some films that are literally timeless, one’s that you can watch over and over again and yet still they give you all the feels.
If you’re looking for a good film (or 10) to watch over the bank holiday, these are my suggestions.
The breakfast club // I watched this film after seeing the first Pitch Perfect because I wanted to understand the references. It’s very 80s and some people will hate it but me I honestly thought it was excellent.
How to lose a guy in 10 days // I’ve only recently watched this rom-com my god is it an absolute beauty.
500 days of summer // Another recent discovery for me but one that is kinda stand out. It’s different, unique and painfully relatable. I’m not gonna lie, I shed a tear.
Spotlight // This is a brutal but compelling film about the sex abuse that took place in the Catholic church. It’s very well made but raises some crucial questions about religion and how it handles criminals within it’s ranks.
13 going on 30 // One of my absolute all time favourite films, it always leaves me feeling good.
Bridge of Spies // A really interesting film about the Cold war, another stellar performance by the wonderful Mr Hanks.
Ideas of March // I’ve always found the American political system to be interesting because it’s so different from ours and this film is a good starting point for anyone wishing to learn more. Probably one of my favourite Gosling films.
Crazy Stupid Love // Another of my favourite Gosling films!
The Help // I’m a bit late to the party in regard to watching this film but I have finally seen it and it’s pretty amazing.
The fault in our stars // <3 <3 <3
